Ask Seek Knock

Updated: May 18

We met Samantha* for the first time in October 2021. Through our weekly ministry engagement at her strip club, we began building a relationship with her. She comes from a turbulent background filled with trauma. Since we met, she was open to us as she had heard about our ministry.

Instead of shame, she felt seen and cared for by our team. As we established trust with her, she began to open up about some of her most profound struggles. As a loving mother of 10, she has a burden for their safety and well-being. She shared about the leaky roof of her rental house that continues to worsen.

Samantha was open and honest as she choked through the troubling realities of her life. As we often do, we offered to pray with her about her specific challenges. She was open and thankful for our praying. During our time together, Jesus's words from Matthew 7 came to my mind. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

We shared how great the Father's love is for her, how He created her and desires a relationship with her. As a caring Father, He has promised to provide all our needs according to His riches as we seek first the Kingdom of God.

Through the struggles of life, God is drawing her to Himself. We've continued to pray with her, share the gospel with her, and remain present in her life. It's been exciting to see God working in her life. She has significant influence at the club and has had many conversations with others about the hope of Jesus. As we were visiting one day, she asked, "Do you think there is any hope for these girls?" God is opening her heart, exposing the darkness, and giving her a compassionate heart for others.

Recently, she shared that God has provided a new living situation for her family. Please continue to pray for Samantha and her relationship with God.
